Online Exhibition: A FOTO + DOCO art project Features young Victorians' stories in the 2020s
April 2021 - May 2022
Commissioned by the Victorian Government Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Youth Content Campaign project, the young creators/artists Tammy Yang and Lynne Lin used their lens and approach to interview and document six groups of young Victorians (storytellers) with unique stories.
PORTRAIT FOTO
The idea behind the six groups of portrait photos is to depict two statuses of life - "life under lockdowns" and "life after lockdowns".
We gathered stories and thoughts from interviews with each storyteller. Then we put their certain experiences and emotions into pictures by using body language and literal symbolism.
DOCO FILM
The six short documentaries record interviews and portrait shooting processes for each of the storytellers. Through the moving images, we believe you can easily relate to the stories. Essentially, the DOCO is a visual description of the FOTO and elaborates more layers of the stories behind it.
